Role Overview:

As the Lead Veterinary Technician Coordinator, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily functions of our veterinary team. This position demands a strong leader who is passionate about animal care and possesses a wealth of veterinary technician knowledge. You will be responsible for guiding and managing the veterinary technician staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols, maintaining supplies, and fostering a collaborative work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Inspire and guide the veterinary technician team, providing training and performance evaluations under the Hospital Manager's guidance.
  • Clinical Assistance: Support veterinarians during medical procedures, surgeries, and examinations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care are met.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline clinic workflows to enhance operational effectiveness, including patient intake, discharge, and follow-up care.
  • Quality Control: Establish and uphold quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with veterinary standards and regulations.
  • Inventory Oversight: Engage in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Client Relations: Effectively communicate with clients regarding their pets' care, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Team Development: Offer continuous training and mentorship to veterinary technicians to elevate their skills and knowledge.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve any challenges or concerns within the veterinary technician team or clinic operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with veterinarians, administrative personnel, and other team members to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including documentation and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a veterinary technician role within a clinical environment.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring a team.
  • Proficiency in veterinary medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory techniques, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with clients and team members.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • A genuine compassion for animals and a dedication to providing the highest level of care.
