Financial Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Operations Manager will serve as a vital partner to the Plant Manager, delivering robust financial guidance and oversight for the manufacturing facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a strategic ally to the Plant Manager, ensuring strong financial stewardship within the plant.
- Monitor actual performance against the planned objectives, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities while implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Initiate and execute strategies to enhance profitability and optimize asset utilization, including conducting make-or-buy analyses and recommending process improvements.
- Deliver timely and insightful management reports and analyses to support data-driven decision-making by line managers.
- Recruit, nurture, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in processes.
- Oversee the annual planning and budgeting cycle, ensuring the creation of realistic and actionable plans aimed at continuous improvement.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing the plan, including risks and opportunities, to develop effective contingency strategies.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records and monthly financial statements, adhering to GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Prepare precise, reality-based forecasts, conducting in-depth analyses to identify necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and procedures, addressing any significant deficiencies or weaknesses.
- Manage the plant's annual audit process in collaboration with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain accurate standard costs annually, ensuring a clear understanding of variable, semi-variable, and fixed costs for variance analysis and decision-making.
- Proactively manage working capital to achieve or exceed planned cash flow targets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing financial management is advantageous.
- Proven track record of exceeding profit and cash flow objectives.
- Experience in planning, forecasting, and actionable financial analysis.
- High energy, well-organized, and adept at managing multiple priorities effectively.
