Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize engineering principles and quality control techniques to evaluate and verify product integrity and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies aimed at enhancing quality standards and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and uphold critical process controls for new product initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain a comprehensive APQP master schedule, outlining project milestones and deliverables.
  • Engage with clients regarding all quality-related matters and APQP processes.
  • Lead the effective application and upkeep of essential quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, PPAP, SOPs, etc.).
  • Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of control plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and uphold measurement methodologies to validate that products meet client specifications, including MSA, GR&R, and SPC.
  • Conduct part measurements utilizing CMM and laser technologies, collaborating with the quality team.
  • Analyze process capability data, identify deficiencies, and collaborate with teams to address these gaps.
  • Act as the primary contact for quality concerns within designated departments, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations using standard methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Facilitate direct communication with clients and conduct site visits as required.

Work Schedule: This position is exempt from overtime and primarily operates during standard day shift hours, typically requiring eight or more hours of work per day, five or more days per week based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in APQP methodologies utilizing AIAG core tools.
  • Extensive experience in quality engineering within the automotive sector, with a strong emphasis on APQP.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office Suite, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Statistical analysis skills for trend evaluation using software such as Mini-Tab.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Strong comprehension of technical drawings, including GD&T.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure while delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions and approaches to corrective actions.
  • Willingness to work onsite at the manufacturing facility and travel to client and supplier locations as necessary.
  • Must meet the definition of a US person as per ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of heat treatment processes.
  • Familiarity with surface treatment processes, such as powder coating.
  • Understanding of ASTM industry standards.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma terminology and methodologies.
  • Experience with Polyworks software.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards, including IATF 16949 and ISO second-party auditing.
  • Strong discipline in 8D methodology and problem-solving techniques.
