Position Summary: Responsible for supervising quality standards throughout the production process to ensure that only quality products are dispatched to customers.


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a related field.
  • Strong understanding of assembly, stamping, and welding processes.
  • Proficient in English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain organized quality records.
  • Support and adhere to Quality Systems and Environmental Management System requirements.
  • Safety training in OSHA standards and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Capability to achieve and maintain IATF: 16949 Level 5 Internal Auditor certification.
  • Skills in problem-solving, process, and quality enhancement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma).
  • Continuous improvement expertise (Kaizen, 5S).
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (e.g., Vernier caliper, micrometer).
  • Familiarity with software applications including MS Windows, MS Office, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interact professionally with Customer Quality and MHA Quality Management Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering team and MHS process owners to address any customer-related concerns regarding products or program management.
  • Document all customer issues, conduct root cause analysis, and guide plants towards effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Assist the quality manager as needed.
  • Manage document control and records.
  • Facilitate team-oriented problem-solving initiatives applying LEAN principles.
  • Contribute to process improvement and variability reduction efforts.
  • Engage in the Customer's and MHS Quality Management System to fulfill customer and company requirements.
  • Support internal functions to meet quality system standards.
  • Supervise shift weld testers and dock auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with product identification, traceability, and packaging instructions.
  • Oversee adherence to quality standards by assembly and press personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with first off/last off procedures.
  • Support training initiatives within the assembly and press departments to achieve quality targets.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding departmental performance.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
  • Participate in standard work creation and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Encourage continuous improvement initiatives among team members.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing setting.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Work is divided between the plant floor and office.
  • Frequent communication with staff and management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the facility.
  • Frequent bending and kneeling.
  • Ability to read small print.
  • Capability to lift or move items weighing up to 35 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Health and Safety:

  • Must comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Personal protective equipment must be used as required.
