Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to enhance the supply chain by minimizing defects, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely project execution.
- Ensure suppliers comprehend and adhere to company standards and requirements.
- Analyze the end-use of supplied products to identify value-added opportunities through lean methodologies aimed at waste reduction.
- Report directly to the Purchasing Manager and work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to coordinate efforts.
Essential Duties:
- Establish and maintain effective communication with quality, purchasing, and engineering teams.
- Conduct site audits of suppliers to verify compliance with control plans and process standards, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.
- Resolve issues related to product specifications and tolerances through effective problem-solving.
- Participate in project meetings to ensure clarity on quality and operational requirements.
- Coordinate studies on gauge repeatability and reliability at supplier locations as necessary.
- Provide technical insights for strategic sourcing projects, evaluating supplier capabilities and overseeing product transitions.
- Manage cost reduction and performance enhancement projects related to supplier manufacturing processes.
- Act as a liaison between company quality assurance and supplier quality assurance to ensure consistency in inspection methods.
- Engage in technical discussions with suppliers to identify and implement improvements in products and processes.
- Respond promptly to quality issues, analyze supplier process data, and validate corrective actions through on-site evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical proficiency, including the ability to interpret technical drawings and understand GD&T.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years of experience in supply chain or quality-related fields, including three years in the metal forming or steel industry.
- Willingness to travel as required, with potential travel up to 50% for business purposes.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to the company's operational locations.
- Must meet the definition of a US Person as per ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Business.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with roll forming or welding processes.
