About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Children's Health (Dallas). As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nurses and respiratory therapists in patient care delivery, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for patients ranging from zero to 18 years old.
  • Prepare patient rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, perform basic patient care tasks, and document intake/output and other tasks delegated by the registered nurse (RN).
  • Respond quickly to patient and family needs, problem-solve appropriately, and maintain a safe patient environment at all times.
  • Assist in emergency situations, initiate BLS, and participate as a runner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including unit regulatory readiness and code cart checks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience as a CNA, EMT, or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
