Job Summary and Qualifications
Our Neuro Care PCU Nursing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

In collaboration with medical professionals, the RN provides both pre-operative and post-operative nursing care while advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

On our 34-bed Neuro PCU, you will have the opportunity to treat patients with conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system.

As a Level 1 Comprehensive Stroke Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level 4 Epilepsy Center, we offer stroke support groups and neurological rehabilitation.

Our high-acuity, fast-paced environment allows you to work alongside a dedicated team of nurses committed to delivering exceptional care in one of the largest Neurology departments in the nation.

What You Will Do In This Role
- Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
- Execute procedures or functions as directed by the medical provider.
- Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
- Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment utilized in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What Qualifications You Will Need
- Texas State RN license or accepted compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a hospital setting; neuro experience preferred.
