We are currently looking for an intermediate Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to join our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) team. This role offers flexibility to work from various GHD offices.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver technical and project management services to current and prospective clients across diverse projects.
  • Draft technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and specifications, including cost estimates and budgets.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data in accordance with environmental regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients, contractors, and service providers.
  • Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring across various media and contaminants, adhering to established protocols.
  • Be prepared for occasional after-hours response to environmental incidents to perform field tasks.
  • Engage in a proactive safety culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Foster client relationships and demonstrate stewardship.
  • Solve complex problems related to environmental remediation and economic decision-making.
  • Balance project scope, schedule, and budget to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Build diverse professional networks across the globe and various disciplines.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of environmental and geographical contexts.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science).
  • 5-10 years of experience, including fieldwork, data evaluation, and technical report writing.
  • Professional Designation/License (Engineer, Geologist, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure.
  • Knowledge of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing various contaminants, including VOCs, SVOCs, metals, and PFAS.
  • Familiarity with the design, operation, and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in a consulting environment.
  • Understanding of site characterization methods, hydrogeologic analysis, and remediation of contaminants in soil, vapor, indoor air, and groundwater.
  • Conduct research, collect, and analyze data to prepare comprehensive reports and documents.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify multiple solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Self-motivated and willing to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Midwest market is a plus.
