We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Image Scientist to join our team at Peraton. As an Image Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting product evaluations, algorithm quality studies, and new product initializations. You will also be responsible for developing image quality equations to quantify the expected quality of an imaging system.
Key Responsibilities- Support product evaluations and algorithm quality studies
- Develop image quality equations to quantify the expected quality of an imaging system
- Work with existing teams to complete tasks as prioritized by government customers
- Develop test and verification methodologies for imaging systems
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver results and meet project deadlines
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Image Science, Optics, Engineering, or Applied Physics
- 1+ years of experience working with electrical-optical, RADAR, LIDAR, hyperspectral, and/or multispectral imaging platforms
- Image processing and digital signal processing experience
- Image chain analysis to include atmospheric modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data
- Applied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes
- Understanding of data analysis and statistics
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Track record of delivering results
- Top Secret clearance and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI and sit for a polygraph
