Job Title: Image Scientist at Peraton

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive IMAGE SCIENTIST to contribute to diverse product assessments, evaluations of algorithm performance, introductions of innovative products, and the formulation of equations to assess image quality in imaging technologies.

The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience and a solid understanding of modeling elements in the imaging process, including sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material characteristics. Familiarity with a range of imaging technologies such as panchromatic, RADAR, LIDAR, OPIR, hyperspectral, and/or multispectral systems utilized in space or airborne platforms is advantageous. A strong grasp of GEOINT systems and exploitation software is crucial for developing effective testing methodologies. The candidate will work collaboratively with a team to meet government standards. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential, along with a proven ability to achieve results.

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Image Science, Optics, Engineering, or Applied Physics with a minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical-optical, RADAR, LIDAR, hyperspectral, and/or multispectral imaging.
  • Experience in image processing and digital signal processing.
  • Knowledge of image chain analysis, including atmospheric modeling, signal quality, noise, optics, detector calibration, and pixel data processing.
  • Applied expertise in sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in technical briefings and problem-solving contexts.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results.
  • Must possess at least a Top Secret clearance and be prepared to upgrade to TS/SCI clearance and undergo a polygraph examination as required.

Salary Information

Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This range is indicative based on experience and related factors.
