Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive IMAGE SCIENTIST to contribute to diverse product assessments, evaluations of algorithm performance, introduction of innovative products, and the formulation of equations to assess image quality in imaging technologies.

The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of modeling elements within the imaging pathway, including sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material characteristics. Familiarity with a range of imaging technologies such as panchromatic, RADAR, LIDAR, OPIR, hyperspectral, and/or multispectral systems utilized in aerial or space platforms is advantageous. A solid grasp of GEOINT systems and analysis software is crucial for developing effective testing methodologies. Collaboration with a team to meet governmental standards is essential. Strong communication skills and teamwork are vital, along with a proven history of achieving results.

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Image Science, Optics, Engineering, or Applied Physics with a minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical-optical, RADAR, LIDAR, hyperspectral, and/or multispectral imaging.
  • Experience in image processing and digital signal processing.
  • Knowledge of image chain analysis encompassing atmospheric modeling, signal integrity, noise, optics, detector calibration, and pixel data processing.
  • Applied expertise in sensor imaging systems, products, and analysis processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in technical briefings and problem-solving scenarios.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results.
  • Must possess at least a Top Secret clearance and be prepared to upgrade to TS/SCI clearance and undergo a polygraph examination as required.
