Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Associate Dean for the College of Nursing at Augusta University. As a key member of the College's leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and oversight for the Athens campus, ensuring the successful operations of the College of Nursing Athens (CONAT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership for the Athens campus, including facility management and fiscal responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the Dean, College of Nursing, and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans for the College.
  • Oversee the coordination of processes to ensure consistency in the efforts of faculty and staff assigned to CONAT.
  • Act as a liaison to the CON administrative team, advising on matters related to facility operations and successful outcomes of faculty, staff, and students at CONAT.
  • Represent Augusta University and the College of Nursing to prospective students, clinical agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with department chairs, associate deans, and other senior leaders to develop and facilitate curricular changes and enhancement of educational programs.
  • Participate in the assignment of courses and teaching loads, and advisement of department chairs for CONAT faculty activities.
  • Participate in the annual performance/merit evaluation of regular part-time and occasional faculty assigned to CONAT.
  • Maximize resources of CONAT to support students and faculty.
  • Serve as a resource for students and faculty, and identify and advocate for infrastructure needs to support faculty and staff at CONAT.
  • Develop, maintain, assess, and refine processes, policies, and standing operating procedures for CONAT in accordance with college and university policies.
  • Coordinate Enterprise and CON events.
  • Collaborate as a member of the CON Leadership Team to support the mission of the CON, Augusta University, and the University System of Georgia.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson for CONAT and liaison to promote the missions of Augusta University.
  • Act as liaison to the larger university community, facilitating access to resources and services to CONAT faculty and staff.
  • Participate in efforts to recruit high-caliber faculty to advance teaching, research, and practice missions of the CON.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs in strategies for recruitment and retention of students and maintaining professionalism and integrity of the programs.
  • Facilitate engagement of CONAT faculty and staff in CON and Enterprise initiatives.
  • Contribute to the CON Strategic Planning process.
  • Collaborate with department chairs on teaching assignments.
  • Supervise staff and manage assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provide direct supervision of the staff associates at CONAT.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the CONAT.
  • Maintain own program of scholarship, research, and/or practice.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP).
  • Active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.
  • Academic teaching, administrative, and leadership experience with both pre-licensure and graduate programs.
  • Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, with at least five years of experience at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
