Campus Associate Dean for Student Affairs

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Campus Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Augusta University/University of Georgia (AU/UGA) Medical Partnership. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of all student affairs, including career and academic advising, student interest groups, and para-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities- Student Advising and Support: Provide bi-annual, one-on-one meetings with first through fourth year medical students, offering academic, career, and personal guidance.
- Academic Success Program: Collaborate with the AU/UGA Medical Partnership's Academic Success Program to ensure full academic support for all medical students.
- Career Advising: Oversee career advising programming, including guiding students through specialty choice and the ERAS and NRMP application processes.
- Student Support: Assist medical students in securing residency programs, serve as a student support and liaison to the MCG faculty senate promotions and professionalism committee, and serve as a member of the Academic Progress and Professionalism Team (APPT).
- Student Wellness: Work collaboratively with the AU/UGA Medical Partnership's Office of Personalized Health and Wellbeing and other initiatives to ensure and promote medical student wellness.
- Student Recruitment: Attend and participate in AU/UGA Medical Partnership Admissions Open Houses and participate as a mentor for the Foothills AHEC Pathway to Medical School Program.
- Education: MD, PhD, or EdD
- Experience: A minimum of five years' experience in academic medicine administration, including roles such as assistant/associate dean, course director, residency director, clerkship director, or academic advisor/mentor for medical students.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and a commitment to serving all, acts with honor and integrity in personal and professional actions, and possesses exemplary oratory, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
