Job Summary

Augusta University College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Chair of DNP Programs position. As the state's flagship nursing program, we enroll over 1,000 students on two campuses and at numerous academic-practice partner sites. Our College of Nursing is part of the University System of Georgia and is adjacent to Augusta University Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Cancer Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, providing ample opportunity for clinical experiences for students and faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership for the Department, including responsibility for the general direction of the Department in alignment with the College of Nursing mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead curricular revisions in alignment with the re-envisioned AACN Essentials.
  • Participate in the College of Nursing Administrative Team and report directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Nursing (DNP).
  • Active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.
  • Academic teaching, administrative, and leadership experience in baccalaureate or higher prelicensure education.
  • Experience with technology-infused engaging pedagogical strategies.
  • Background commensurate with the Assistant Professor level or above.
  • Evidence of contribution to the profession and recognition at the national level.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
