JOB TITLE: Print Production Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Digital Imaging Center, Print Studio

REPORTS TO: Head Manager

SCHEDULE: Part-time. Availability required on weekdays and weekends.

SALARY: $21.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Head Manager, the Print Production Coordinator will operate in a dynamic setting that necessitates proficiency in computer applications and a strong emphasis on customer engagement and service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the Riso workshops.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all projects, and facilitate operations that may cause delays or modifications to schedules in response to unexpected circumstances. Maintain communication with students and faculty when critical challenges arise or production timelines are at risk.
  • Manage inventory of materials and components essential for production.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including print request forms and job tickets, to ensure job information is thorough, precise, and up-to-date.
  • Engage in training sessions or special projects as needed.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Communicate daily with print studio supervisors.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of experience in a print production Macintosh environment.
  • 3 years of experience in customer service and computer applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Background in art education is advantageous.
  • Experience in a high-paced production setting utilizing Apple software.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Adobe Master Suite.
  • Experience in desktop publishing, design layout, and form creation.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Riso technology is preferred.
  • Understanding of various paper types and weights (cover stock, vellum, etc.).
  • Familiarity with OSX and IOS devices.
  • Insight into the internal operations of a printing facility and/or pressroom, including pre-press tasks with graphic arts, direct to plate output, and RIP Station operation, paper cutting, Epson plotters, measurements, and color systems.
  • Ability to calibrate printers throughout the lab.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diverse papers and printing inks.
