STATUS: Part-time
WEEKLY SCHEDULE:
REPORT TO: Head Manager
Position Overview:
This role necessitates a minimum of 3 years of experience in a dynamic print production Macintosh setting, requiring proficiency in various software applications and a strong emphasis on customer interaction and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the lead manager.
- Support the Riso workshops.
- Guarantee timely delivery of all projects, and accelerate processes that may hinder or modify timelines to accommodate unexpected circumstances. Maintain communication with students and faculty when critical issues arise or production schedules are at risk.
- Oversee the inventory of materials and components necessary for production.
- Complete all necessary documentation, print request forms, and records to ensure job ticket information is thorough, precise, and up-to-date.
- Engage in training sessions or special projects as requested.
- Foster collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
- Communicate daily with print studio supervisors.
- Availability to work on weekdays and weekends.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment utilizing Apple software.
- Familiarity with OSX and IOS devices.
- Proficient in desktop publishing, design layout, and form creation.
- Intermediate experience with Adobe Master Suite.
- Understanding of the internal operations of a printing facility and/or pressroom, including pre-press processes with graphic arts, direct to plate output, and operation of a RIP Station, paper cutting, Epson plotters, measurements, and color systems.
- Knowledge of calibrating all printers within the lab.
- Must be self-driven, proactive, and enthusiastic about learning new techniques.
- Comprehensive understanding of various paper types and printing inks.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a print environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of Macintosh experience.
- An art school background is recommended.
- Team-oriented individual who can also work independently.
- Possess a strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to be innovative.
- Knowledge of different paper types and weights (cover stock, vellum, etc.).
- Enjoy collaborating closely with others.
- Experience with 3D printing is a plus.
- Familiarity with Riso technology is a plus.
