Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corrosion Resistance Applications Engineer to join our team at Haynes International. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing innovative applications for corrosion-resistant alloys in the Chemical Process Industry and other assigned market segments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and spearhead applications development for novel equipment and non-conventional process conditions unlocked by new generation CRAs in select market segments.
  • Participate in material selection/specification process by providing consultation and technical collaborations with industry design and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate, assist, and oversee field corrosion testing in support of material selection/specification.
  • Provide technical support to customers through direct intervention or guidance using internal technical library, R&T, and mill resources.
  • Identify applications and product development opportunities based on knowledge of assigned CRA markets.
  • Perform market research and development of customer relations to obtain market knowledge.
  • Communicate and provide resources for market needs and direction internally.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and R&T in developing product forms for existing and new CRAs.
  • Compile and present technical data at forums and conferences.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
  • One year of industry experience in the field of corrosion control, including evaluating material/environment systems, leading corrosion research, performing data analysis, and using electrochemical tests and scanning electron microscopes.
Work Environment

This position requires international travel (Americas, Europe, and Asia) 8-12 times per year. Telecommuting is permitted 2 times per week.
