Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Process Engineer for Battery Modules plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and excellence of high-voltage battery module production. This position involves defining the procedures for requesting, assessing feasibility, planning, executing, and reviewing modifications to the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure thorough documentation and tracking of changes to maintain traceability and effectiveness in the manufacturing workflow.
- Verify compliance with quality standards set by the organization.
- Engage with various organizational levels to address quality concerns promptly, demonstrating strong communication capabilities.
- Develop and implement protocols for introducing changes, ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks while minimizing associated risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless transitions, identify areas for enhancement, and improve overall product quality and efficiency.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs, ensuring ongoing assessment of products, processes, and quality systems to avert nonconformities.
- Lead investigations and root cause analyses for any non-conformances, ensuring continuous oversight of corrective actions and process improvements.
- Review and revise product specifications, inspection standards, manuals, and lessons learned initiatives.
- Conduct ongoing data collection and analysis to guarantee module quality.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities aimed at optimizing quality and inspection systems.
- Perform data analyses to pinpoint areas for enhancement within the quality system.
- Prepare updates and reports on quality outcomes to communicate quality initiatives effectively.
- Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements related to module Quality Assurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent. Degrees in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered with relevant industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls, with a solid foundation in project management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees across all organizational levels, from hourly workers to senior leadership.
- Capability to coach, mentor, and develop module QC Inspectors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Master's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is advantageous.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
- Knowledge of quality certification systems such as ISO9001/IATF16949 is essential.
- Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing methodologies and their implementation.
- Extensive expertise in Data Analytics using MS Excel, MS Access, or other database applications.
- Good working knowledge of Google Suite software.
- ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability is a plus.
