Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Systems Engineer to enhance our operations.

The MES Systems Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our manufacturing processes by managing and refining the MES utilized in our EV battery production.

This role encompasses primary support responsibilities, ensuring the MES operates seamlessly and addressing any challenges that may arise to uphold production standards.

Advanced support and substantial system modifications will be handled by our headquarters team.


Key Responsibilities:

MES Support and Maintenance:

  • Deliver primary support for the MES, swiftly addressing and resolving system-related issues.
  • Oversee MES performance to guarantee continuous operational availability and dependability.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to enhance MES efficiency.
  • Assist with equipment and logistics system testing.
  • Manage system operation scenarios, including preventive measures and disaster simulations.
  • Execute systems monitoring and post-implementation assessments.

System Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and implement improvements to boost MES performance.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure MES integration with other manufacturing systems.
  • Evaluate potential impacts of new implementations and process changes as the on-site expert.
  • Support new implementation testing in coordination with the headquarters team.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive MES documentation, including operating procedures and troubleshooting manuals.

Issue Resolution:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot MES-related challenges, working in tandem with on-site IT and manufacturing teams.
  • Escalate complex issues to the headquarters support team as necessary.
  • Document all issues and resolutions in a timely manner.

Training and Support:

  • Educate manufacturing personnel on MES functionalities and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to ensure effective utilization of the system.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in MES support or a related role, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in EV battery manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Strong familiarity with MES platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Plex, ION).
  • Proficient in SQL, databases, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of MES system administration and data analysis.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require occasional on-call support and flexible hours to address critical system issues.
  • The position may involve working in a manufacturing environment, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
  • May require coordination of video conferences between on-site and headquarters teams.
