POSITION OVERVIEW:


Under general supervision, you will assist the public at the service counter by processing various applications for permits, business licenses, and animal licenses, while issuing permits in accordance with established guidelines. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

COMPENSATION:
$52,704 - $70,632 annually

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist and respond to public inquiries via phone or in person.
- Process forms, permit applications, and plans necessary for issuing business and animal licenses, as well as planning and building permits.
- Review applications for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Issue permits for minor projects or assist professional staff with determinations and permit issuance.
- Calculate fees based on established schedules.
- Prepare and organize monthly reports on permits issued and fees collected.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with administrative support as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in permit issuance within a municipal setting, or two years of relevant clerical experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of building and zoning codes, planning processes, and permit processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
