Position Overview

This role entails the strategic oversight and comprehensive leadership of a Regional Environmental Services Practice. The focus is on enhancing the practice across various environmental sectors while adhering to Burns & McDonnell's core principles of safety, client satisfaction, integrity, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead and represent the Environmental Services Practice in the designated region.

+ Collaborate with Global Practice and Regional Office leadership to:

+ Recruit and onboard essential project personnel with expertise in design and management.

+ Organize and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver environmental solutions to targeted clients.

+ Assist in the formulation and management of marketing and client retention budgets on a monthly and annual basis.

+ Develop and enforce project execution quality and financial oversight.

+ Conduct regular project management training and promote employee development.

+ Formulate a long-term strategic plan aimed at the growth and sustainability of the Environmental Services business.

+ Identify, develop, and guide the execution of business strategies for the practice, including operational procedures, marketing initiatives, pricing strategies, and customer retention efforts. This includes maximizing profitability and billable hours on projects while achieving financial performance targets.

+ Ensure project execution meets or surpasses client expectations regarding quality, timelines, and budget.

+ Coordinate and facilitate the activities of various disciplines on projects of all sizes from inception to completion, ensuring successful collaboration with both internal and external clients.

+ Initiate or support proposal development and contract negotiations; oversee project planning including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, and managing deadlines while establishing and adhering to critical project objectives.

+ Uphold quality and safety standards in all operations.

+ Maintain adherence to the Quality Control program.

+ Ensure compliance with the Safety program.

+ Assemble a team dedicated to:

+ Cultivating key relationships within target client organizations.

+ Developing a client service strategy that includes a comprehensive relationship plan for targeted clients.

+ Identifying project opportunities early and facilitating go/no-go decisions in collaboration with office leadership.

+ Leading strategy development to pre-sell projects prior to RFP release.

+ Overseeing proposal development for project pursuits.

+ Leading the contract negotiation process for selected projects.

+ Building relationships with key partners and subcontractors.

+ This position is accountable for achieving sales, revenue, and net income objectives for the Environmental Services Practice.

Performance Metrics

+ Achievement of sales, revenue, and income targets for the Environmental Services Practice.

+ Growth of the practice based on sales, revenue, profitability, and staff expansion.

+ Attainment of billable time objectives for staff.

+ Maximization of project profitability.

+ Ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.

+ Successful execution of projects that meet or exceed client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget.

+ Execution of projects that align with internal standards for quality, schedule, cost management, project profitability, safety, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

+ Professional registration is preferred.

+ A minimum of 10 years of management experience; 15 years is preferred.

+ Proven ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of government, industry, and public contracts on project-related matters.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to manage project budgets and financial data.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
