This position offers a hybrid remote work arrangement, requiring travel (40%-60% of the time) and on-site project support in various locations across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embrace and promote Tanaq's Core Values: Purpose-driven environmental work, Safety, Engaging Culture, Trust and Respect, Transparency, and Agility.
  • Act as Field Team Leader during site investigations, overseeing the sampling of groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water for laboratory analysis.
  • Document field activities and sampling procedures meticulously.
  • Assist in preparing lithologic logs, potentiometric surface maps, GIS maps, and tabulated results from field investigations.
  • Draft comprehensive reports detailing geological, hydrogeological, contamination extent, and contaminant transport processes.
  • Contribute to the development of site remediation strategies, including removal actions and in-situ treatments.
  • Support the creation of subcontract specifications and the competitive procurement process for remediation, drilling, and subsurface investigation contractors.
  • Oversee contractors executing site remediation tasks, including groundwater injections and removal actions.
  • Assist in remediation planning, including the preparation of planning and safety documentation.
  • Review subcontractor invoices and assess performance against approved plans.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site at various project locations throughout the United States.
  • Travel (40%-60%) to support environmental investigations or cleanup efforts, with travel expenses reimbursed.
Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and adherence to safety plans.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Professional demeanor with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Capability to self-manage and take initiative on tasks.
  • Prior experience in the environmental restoration sector is advantageous.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift at least 30 pounds for sample collection and transportation.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Work Environment

This role is hybrid remote, necessitating approximately 40%-60% travel to project sites. Tanaq Environmental, LLC operates nationwide, supporting significant project activities across various states.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science (geology, chemistry, biology, ecology, natural resources) or engineering (civil, environmental, chemical) from an accredited institution.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current annual 8-hour update is preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates as necessary.
Physical Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel 40%-60% of the time for site visits, fieldwork, and client meetings.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and while working on a computer.
  • Mobility: Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, squat, and kneel for inspections at project sites.
  • Strength and Stamina: Ability to lift and carry moderate weights up to 25 lbs and maintain stamina for extended periods of site inspections.
  • Vision and Hearing: Clear vision (correctable to 20/20) to identify hazards and read safety documents; good hearing to detect warning signals and communication on-site.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) comfortably.
