Position Overview
The Academic Administrator for Arts and Sciences plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience by overseeing various academic processes and supporting faculty and students alike.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Management: Develop efficient systems to streamline course registration and manage course assignments across diverse departmental and programmatic requirements. Evaluate current data management practices and propose enhancements to improve undergraduate curriculum processes. Provide comprehensive reports to assist department chairs in course planning based on historical data. Administrative Support: Maintain organized records for undergraduate academics and faculty, manage academic calendars, and facilitate the Prizes and Awards process. Assist in the senior thesis defense logistics and respond to data requests from the Dean's office, including annual planning activities. Coordinate department meetings and represent the department at academic events. Student Advising: Offer guidance to students by addressing inquiries related to program details and degree requirements. Stay informed about degree program criteria to provide accurate advice. Data Management: Oversee the processing of undergraduate program declarations and manage registration-related tasks for assigned departments. Faculty Assistance: Act as a resource for faculty regarding technology, institutional policies, and general inquiries. Faculty Recruitment and Evaluation: Organize faculty search processes and manage tenure and promotion evaluations as necessary. Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned and support cross-functional initiatives within the assigned divisions.Qualifications
A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience is required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to facilitate coordination across various offices and groups. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. A proactive problem solver who can anticipate challenges and devise effective solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities, optimizing resources and timelines to ensure successful task completion.
