Job Summary:

Brandeis University is seeking an Academic Instructor in Fine Arts to teach two courses in the Fall 2024 semester: History of Western Art I: Antiquity to the Middle Ages and Impressionism: Avant-Garde Rebellion in Context.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach two courses in the Fall 2024 semester: History of Western Art I: Antiquity to the Middle Ages and Impressionism: Avant-Garde Rebellion in Context.
  • Develop and implement course syllabi that align with the department's curriculum goals.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in a classroom setting.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental initiatives.

Requirements:

  • ABD or PhD in Art History or a related field.
  • Expertise in pre-Modern Western art.
  • Teaching experience in a higher education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching courses in Art History or a related field.
  • Publication record in Art History or a related field.
