POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to enhance our Finance department. With a workforce exceeding 500 employees and an annual budget surpassing $70 million, this role is pivotal in managing the organization's financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will ensure precision, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. This position will significantly contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of four accounting professionals, providing necessary training and support.
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to formulate annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Coordinate the annual financial audit, ensuring timely completion and resolution of any findings.
- Manage cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds as required.
- Maintain banking relationships and monitor financial institution activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Engage in continuous learning regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience within a nonprofit organization with a budget of $50 million or more.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with Financial Edge software is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and auditing processes.
- Commitment to providing accurate financial information to organizational leadership.
- Demonstrated integrity, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, from staff to Board members.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications. CLC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 15 PTO days and 10 sick days in the first year, an employer-matched retirement plan of up to 6%, and generous Family and Medical Leave along with health care plans.
