Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Real Estate Lending Department, promoting a positive and communicative work environment.
- Manage the development, implementation, and oversight of all real estate loan policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to loan operations.
- Gather and validate HMDA LAR data for regulatory reporting.
- Design and launch new loan products to meet member needs.
- Monitor and assess the performance of the real estate loan portfolio, including growth and delinquency trends.
- Evaluate and underwrite complex loan applications in line with industry standards.
- Lead departmental meetings and provide strategic direction.
- Conduct monthly quality control reviews of loan operations.
- Facilitate loan participation transactions and collaborate with legal teams for contract preparation.
- Continuously review and enhance loan processes for efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership to enhance staff productivity and effectiveness.
- Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Foster a culture of sales and cross-selling within the loan team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in financial institutions or credit unions, including supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial services products and operations.
- Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
- Proficient in relevant software applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong decision-making capabilities with a focus on integrity and confidentiality.
