Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Real Estate Lending Department, promoting a positive and communicative work environment.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and oversight of all real estate loan policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to loan operations.
  • Gather and validate HMDA LAR data for regulatory reporting.
  • Design and launch new loan products to meet member needs.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the real estate loan portfolio, including growth and delinquency trends.
  • Evaluate and underwrite complex loan applications in line with industry standards.
  • Lead departmental meetings and provide strategic direction.
  • Conduct monthly quality control reviews of loan operations.
  • Facilitate loan participation transactions and collaborate with legal teams for contract preparation.
  • Continuously review and enhance loan processes for efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership to enhance staff productivity and effectiveness.
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Foster a culture of sales and cross-selling within the loan team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in financial institutions or credit unions, including supervisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services products and operations.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with a focus on integrity and confidentiality.
