Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Event Setup Coordinator to join our team at Peabody Hotels & Resorts. As an integral part of our Banquets department, you will be responsible for setting up event spaces to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for our guests.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires physical effort in transporting carts weighing up to 300 pounds and standing/walking for prolonged periods. You must be able to lift, carry, and store items weighing approximately 30 pounds and bend, squat, and reach frequently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up function areas with designated tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, easels, and other equipment as specified by group requirements and in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Inspect set rooms for cleanliness and agree to group requirements; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Stock and organize supply carts with designated materials and equipment, transport them to assigned function areas, and retrieve clean linen and skirting from the laundry.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, locations, and guest counts, as well as correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas, including closets, stairwells, and public areas.
  • Dust, polish, and clean various surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and floor surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Check all tables to ensure they are working properly and table legs are locked, and polish stanchions to a high gloss shine.
  • Deliver client packages/boxes of materials as assigned to/from scheduled function areas.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy, prioritize and organize tasks, and follow directions thoroughly.
  • Familiarity with various room set-ups, standard equipment involved, and proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
  • Able to maintain regular and punctual attendance, adhere to Peabody grooming standards, and exemplify Peabody Service Excellence.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
