Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Residency Program at Centerpoint Medical Center equips you with the necessary tools to thrive in a contemporary healthcare setting. This compensated program facilitates your transition from academic learning to practical application through structured experiences, including:

  • Advanced training in a specialized area.
  • Monthly educational workshops.
  • Preceptorship with a designated facility mentor.
  • Skill assessment through practical simulations.
  • Guidance from experienced nursing leaders.
  • Collaboration on evidence-based practice initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, noting any changes.
  • Administer procedures and treatments as directed by healthcare providers, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Dispense prescribed medications and monitor patient responses, intervening as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care by responding promptly to requests and anticipating needs.
  • Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications, ensuring clarity and understanding.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing by the start date.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the relevant state.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Local travel may be necessary for training during the initial orientation period.
