Program Details and Requirements
The Residency Program at Centerpoint Medical Center equips you with the necessary tools to thrive in a modern healthcare setting. This compensated program facilitates your transition from academic learning to practical application through a structured series of experiences, including:
- Specialized clinical training in your chosen field.
- Monthly educational workshops.
- Hands-on mentorship with a designated facility preceptor.
- Skill assessment through practical simulations.
- Guidance from seasoned nursing leaders.
- Collaboration on evidence-based practice initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care aligned with departmental needs and professional standards. Collaborating with healthcare providers and team members, the RN Resident offers personalized, compassionate care using established nursing methodologies.
Core Duties Include:
- Evaluating patient conditions upon admission and throughout shifts, noting any changes.
- Executing medical procedures and documenting care in patient records promptly.
- Administering prescribed medications and monitoring for responses.
- Providing exceptional patient service by addressing requests and anticipating needs.
- Educating patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing by the start date.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state.
- No prior experience required.
- Some travel may be necessary for training during the initial orientation period.
