The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a comprehensive year-long initiative designed to provide practical experience, enhancing your clinical and critical thinking capabilities. Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Residency Program at Centerpoint Medical Center equips you with essential tools for success in a hospital setting. This paid program facilitates your transition from academic learning to practical application through a structured series of educational experiences, including:
- Advanced training in a specialty area
- Monthly educational workshops
- Hands-on training with a designated preceptor
- Skill assessment through practical simulations
- Mentorship from experienced nursing leaders
- Collaboration on evidence-based practice projects
The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, adhering to departmental requirements and professional standards. Collaborating with healthcare providers and the care team, the RN Resident ensures individualized, compassionate care using established nursing frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, reporting any changes
- Execute medical procedures and document care in patient records accurately
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses
- Provide exceptional patient care by anticipating needs and responding promptly
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications
Required Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing by the start date
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state
- No prior experience necessary
- Local travel may be required for training during the initial orientation period
