Position Overview:

The Cocktail Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable experience at The Cordish Companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold a polished appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Proactively address and fulfill guest needs.
  • Deliver outstanding and professional service consistently.
  • Present menus, respond to inquiries, and recommend food and beverage options.
  • Inform guests about food and drink specials, including pricing.
  • Inquire about any dietary restrictions or allergies from guests.
  • Accurately input orders into the point-of-sale system.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas and throughout the venue.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and adhere to supervisory guidance.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with state regulations and training standards.
  • Adhere to company protocols for bottle service.
  • Follow established cash and payment procedures.
  • Comply with health department and sanitation standards.
  • Complete end-of-shift financial tasks accurately.
  • Communicate guest needs to front-of-house and back-of-house staff, including managers and chefs.
  • Prepare the cocktail lounge/bar and side stations, performing opening and closing duties as directed.
  • Ensure lounge furniture is clean and organized.
  • Set tables with appropriate settings.
  • Stock side stations with necessary supplies.
  • Report any damage or breakage of equipment or furniture to management immediately.
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Foster teamwork and support fellow staff members.
Training Requirements:
  • Completion of in-venue cocktail server training, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and Food Handling Certification.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment, ideally in a nightclub or lounge.
  • Familiarity with various liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Must meet the legal age requirements set by the state.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Must exhibit a courteous and hospitable demeanor.
  • Possession of alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit as required by local regulations.
  • Able to accurately take and record guest orders.
  • Competent in calculating split checks and tips according to policy.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to handle, carry, or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand and move throughout the venue during shifts.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as necessary.
