Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SBA Credit Risk Manager to join our team at Truist. As a key member of our credit risk management team, you will be responsible for optimizing the profitability of our wholesale loan portfolio by maintaining a balance between quality, profitability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Line of Business (LOB) segment leadership to execute credit strategy in line with LOB targets and Truist's stated risk tolerance.
  • Lead a credit approval team of Credit Risk Officers/Portfolio Managers to inculcate credit culture through communication, guidance, training, and development.
  • Provide leadership in modeling behaviors that reflect strong judgment capabilities gained through broad and deep credit experience, constructive partnership, and ability to navigate challenges that have potential impact on Truist's profitability.
  • Stay abreast of laws, regulations, and risk management techniques to ensure compliance and best practices in risk management.
  • Stay abreast of local and national economic trends and market conditions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • 5 years of experience in lending and/or credit experience.
  • Comprehensive financial credit risk and regulatory knowledge.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership ability to collaborate across teams and build strong relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in lending and/or credit experience.
  • Masters degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
  • RMA - Credit Risk Certification.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with SBA loans.
