Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Software Developer to spearhead the transformation and enhancement of a legacy PL/SQL-based web application. The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise in full-stack development, systems architecture, and database design, with a strong emphasis on modernizing outdated systems while engaging in hands-on development activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the architectural overhaul of a legacy application to establish a contemporary, scalable framework.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for database migration.
  • Construct both front-end and back-end components of the revamped system.
  • Adopt secure coding methodologies to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Engage with stakeholders to analyze and enhance intricate workflows.
  • Guide junior developers and foster overall team development.
  • Participate in code evaluations to uphold high standards of code quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in both legacy and new systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Extensive experience in systems architecture and full-stack web application development.
  • Demonstrated success in modernizing legacy systems.
  • Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL and transitioning to modern frameworks.
  • Experience in database design and migration (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies in a government context.
