Job Overview

Salary:
Custom Software Systems Inc. is in search of a Senior Enterprise Architect to deliver specialized guidance to the Enterprise Architecture team. This role is pivotal in establishing and crafting enterprise architecture frameworks, developing robust data and integration models, and assessing organizational requirements to provide solutions that align with strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a consultant and intermediary between business and technical stakeholders, recommending modifications to the architecture and organizational structure based on requirement analysis and emerging technologies.
  • Execute the strategic vision and architectural framework.
  • Enhance and maintain the Data Dictionary structure, which includes the enterprise architecture (EA) repository, mapping repository, and artifact repository (Cameo and Stat).
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies between the enterprise technical architecture and system designs proposed by project teams.
  • Analyze and extract EA data to produce visual representations (reports, graphs, charts, models) for various EA focus areas (business, information systems, information technology) as required.
  • Continuously refine processes for maintaining IPPS-A EA data to ensure high quality and minimal manual intervention.
  • Improve the presentation and visualization of information within the Data Dictionary structure for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with key roles such as Business Analysts, Data Architects, Solution Designers, Interface Developers, DBAs, and others.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • At least 15 years of experience in IT.
  • A minimum of 7 years in Enterprise Architecture.
  • Proven management and mentoring capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF and its application to DoD IT Solutions.
  • Ability to identify and document recommendations for enhancing the EA and operational infrastructure.
  • Strong grasp of relational database concepts along with data and process modeling.
  • Understanding of the relationship between network and data center architecture and application development methodologies in relation to Enterprise Architecture.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture fundamentals; experience with enterprise architecture software tools is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pay and personnel processes.
  • Proficient in Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft COTS architecture and configuration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the DoD IT domain.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (charting, graphing, pivot tables), Microsoft Visio (process flow diagrams), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in managing, analyzing, developing, and/or implementing IT solutions.
  • Certification in Enterprise Architecture such as TOGAF, DoDAF, or FEAF is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills across multiple constituencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Outstanding analytical and technical capabilities.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
