POSITION OVERVIEW

The Rig Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing crew activities, ensuring productivity standards are met, and collaborating with clients to guarantee that high-quality services and products are delivered safely. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of all components of a Workover Rig and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues with the rig and associated equipment on-site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engages with management regarding rig logistics and workflow
  • Collaborates with the District Manager on crew scheduling, operational issues, and personnel management
  • Guides and directs rig crew on assigned tasks
  • Conducts BOP inspections and testing as necessary
  • Assists HSE, DOT, and other departments with documentation processes
  • Operates power swivels, crown, and ground savers when required
  • Accurately performs torque calculations and specifications
  • Implements fall protection protocols as needed
  • Assists in the racking of rod tubing when necessary
  • Manages daily operations of the Tong's as required
  • Handles the pulling and laying down of rods, tubing, casing, and other equipment
  • Maintains cleanliness and operational integrity of the work site, tools, and equipment
  • Understands Hazard ID cards and near-hit cards, adhering to standard operating procedures for their completion
  • Participates in daily inspections and maintenance of equipment
  • Effectively executes elevator handling, hardline construction, and energy isolation procedures
  • Ensures optimal maintenance and use of all equipment
  • Trains and mentors crew on the proper use of down-hole tools, power swivels, and compressors
  • Monitors costs, labor, and revenues associated with operations, providing weekly financial analyses to the operations manager to meet budgetary requirements
  • Coordinates repairs for all equipment and tools
  • Offers technical support, supervision, and training to team members on-site to ensure adherence to schedules and procedures
  • Fosters a positive work environment for the rig crew, including training and coaching in their responsibilities
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-8 years of experience in well servicing rig operations preferred
  • Ability to perform duties of a rig operator, floor hand, and derrick hand
  • Familiarity with pump and tank operations is essential
  • Possession of a valid state-issued driver's license, CDL, or the ability to obtain one
  • Capability to perform manual labor necessary for operating well servicing equipment
  • Knowledge of running tongs and Ranger Energy equipment is required
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Proficient in MS Office applications preferred
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Completion and passing of all mandatory pre-employment screenings are required.
