Permian Basin Insights
ConocoPhillips has a long-standing presence in the Permian Basin, with nearly a century of operations. Our strategic acquisitions have further solidified our position in this vital region. As of the latest reports, we hold approximately 1 million net acres in the Permian Basin, with significant production levels.

If selected for the Artificial Lift Technician role, you will collaborate with Lead Operators, SCADA Technicians, and Production Foremen to optimize well performance. Your responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the installation of artificial lift systems, including rod pumping mechanisms and associated devices such as pump-off controllers and SCADA technology.
  • Enhancing artificial lift efficiency by analyzing well performance, monitoring fluid levels, conducting dynamometer assessments, managing pump-off controllers, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams.
  • Identifying and addressing suboptimal pumping performance, analyzing issues, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Improving equipment reliability by minimizing failures through sound designs, operations, and participation in well failure discussions.
  • Assisting the production team as directed by supervisors, providing support to lease operators with artificial lift challenges and optimization efforts.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in artificial lift technologies, including Gas Lift, ESP, Rod Pump, and Plunger Lift.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience with SCADA systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of well optimization theories and techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, team-building, and people development skills.
  • Willingness to conduct training sessions in group settings.
  • Ability to generate effective solutions based on available information and make timely decisions.
  • Commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Proactive in seeking diverse perspectives to achieve business objectives.
