Fulfillment Center Supervisor

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of a managerial figure, the Warehouse Operations Supervisor is tasked with directly managing the activities of team members in the Sorting and Shipping sectors within the Controlled Substances division of a warehouse environment. This role ensures that the team complies with all organizational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as contractual obligations.
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is accountable for all personnel-related functions concerning their direct reports. They predominantly operate within the warehouse production zones. Furthermore, this position may necessitate engaging in physical tasks such as operating warehouse machinery or managing Hazardous Waste materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee team members in a production department of the facility.
- Authorize all employee time records and performance evaluations.
- Adjust priorities to align with evolving business requirements.
- Forecast staffing needs and engage in the recruitment and selection process.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitor, report, and proactively address losses within the facility.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly operational statistics and updates.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all SOPs related to facility operations.
- Supervise incoming and outgoing shipping and processing activities to guarantee order accuracy, completeness, and shipment condition.
- Capably conduct and document periodic regulatory inspections of the facility, including sanitation and hazardous waste storage inspections.
- Meet established production and quality objectives while adhering to standard operating and safety protocols.
- Encourage continuous and measurable improvement; instruct and enforce quality procedures.
- Ensure a clean, professional, secure, and safe working environment.
- Identify and comprehend issues, challenges, and opportunities; demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with strategic partners.
- Exceed customer expectations for quality products and processing turnaround; ensure outstanding customer service key performance indicators (quality controls, unannounced inspections, inventory accuracy, and security, etc.).
- Recognize and resolve associate and customer concerns, utilizing personal judgment or consulting others as necessary.
- Communicate professionally with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, vendors, associates).
- Conduct regular scheduled meetings with team members.
- Effectively communicate goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to team members.
- Contribute to employee development through training, coaching, and promotional opportunities.
- Administer corrective actions to employees in collaboration with management and human resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, preferably in a fulfillment, distribution, or manufacturing setting; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
- Proficient in computer applications and programs specific to operations and reporting, including MS Office (Excel, MS Word).
- Familiarity with warehouse safety and security practices.
- Physically capable of working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Able to operate and troubleshoot departmental equipment, such as material handling devices, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Competent in packaging, labeling, loading/unloading Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste, signing Hazardous Waste manifests, and serving as an Emergency Coordinator for the facility.
- Ability to perform the duties of a hazardous waste generator, including identification, sorting, packaging, segregating, and labeling hazardous waste generated from daily operations.
