Job OverviewPosition: Mobility Transport Specialist

Location: Dallas/Fort Worth

Salary: $13.00-$15.00/hour

Work Schedule: 24/48 or day shift

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the secure and safe operation of the mobility transport vehicle, adhering to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, along with CareFlite's established policies.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all non-medical apparatus associated with the ambulance and/or mobility transport vehicle.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the assigned vehicle at the start of each shift, documenting any maintenance performed or needed.
  • Assist the flight crew in the loading and unloading of patients for both helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, complying with all aviation safety protocols.
  • Uphold a positive image of CareFlite by interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and medical staff, ensuring all parties are informed about relevant transport details.
  • Accommodate family members as much as possible without compromising patient safety or the mission's integrity.
  • Provide the CareFlite Communication Center with necessary information to initiate, monitor, and conclude the transport mission.
  • Address special medical and comfort needs of patients to enhance their transport experience.
  • Maintain an out-of-chute time of less than 90 seconds at all times, with a target of 60 seconds during peak hours.
  • Ensure compliance with response time standards as per contractual obligations.
  • Treat all calls as emergencies, regardless of their nature.
  • Participate in the provision of non-emergency mobility transport services.
  • Complete necessary documentation to accurately reflect patient conditions and services provided during transport.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is well-stocked and cleaned in accordance with CareFlite's standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance and improvement initiatives as directed by supervisors, familiarizing oneself with relevant surveys and projects.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance professional skills during downtime and engage in work-related projects, such as public relations with facilities.
  • Identify and communicate efficiency or cost-saving suggestions to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Support assigned partners in delivering patient care, including lifting patients and equipment, documenting transports, and maintaining the vehicle.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by supporting co-workers consistently.
  • Respect diversity in the workplace and address colleagues in a professional manner at all times.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all job responsibilities are fulfilled, proactively assisting co-workers when tasks are completed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic CPR certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle operation in compliance with Texas laws.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to make decisions impacting the immediate work unit.
  • Capability to understand and apply oral and written instructions.
  • Must be able to see and communicate with customers and observe vehicle operations.
  • Ability to perform tasks while standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to assess conditions through visual and tactile examination.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to coordinate closely with others in high-pressure situations.
  • Adaptability to changing job duties and directions.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials and environments, requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
