Position Overview

The Medical Assistant Program Educator plays a vital role in shaping the future of aspiring medical assistants. This position involves the implementation and assessment of daily lesson plans tailored to meet the educational needs of students, incorporating various scheduled activities and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and plan instructional strategies to meet specific learning objectives based on student requirements and the established curriculum.
  • Student Evaluation: Assess student performance in relation to curriculum achievements and activities, making necessary adjustments to support diverse learning needs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student attendance and grading records in accordance with institutional policies, preparing final grades at the conclusion of each module.
  • Guest Coordination: Organize and facilitate guest speakers, community service opportunities, and field trips to relevant medical facilities.
  • Instructional Delivery: Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and practical demonstrations for both group and individual learning experiences.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and assistance to students navigating the Medical Assistant program curriculum.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with the management of supplies and equipment, including inventory and ordering processes.
  • Externship Coordination: Support and coordinate externship opportunities for Medical Assistant students.
  • Classroom Monitoring: Supervise students in the classroom, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and providing assistance as needed.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or equivalent training from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as a Medical Assistant, or four (4) years of relevant training and experience for those instructors without an accredited Medical Assistant degree.
  • Current licenses, certifications, or designations as mandated by local, state, or federal regulations applicable to the Medical Assistant field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and general computer skills.
