About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medication to residents in a safe and efficient manner, under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Document and chart medication administration, as well as report any relevant observations or concerns.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including laundry and housekeeping tasks.
  • Adhere to and convey a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families, and employees.
  • Complete necessary care documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervise residents' medications under the direction of the service plan, according to established procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure that required documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Provide redirection, monitoring, and observation as integral parts of a personal care plan.
  • Provide redirection and intervention for behavior, including observation and monitoring.
  • Perform incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and provide covered care services according to the client's care plan.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Occasional use of hands, wrists, and fingers, and lifting or moving up to 75 lbs may be required.
  • Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching are occasionally required.
  • This position requires spending a majority of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting.
  • Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate.
  • Ability to provide covered PCA services according to the person's PCA Care Plan.
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation for work in the community.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • At least six months experience in an assisted living community preferred.
  • United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this state.
  • Certified as Registered Medication Aide in this state.
