Copper Canyon is seeking a highly skilled Medication Aide to join our team. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient administration of medication to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medication to residents in a safe and efficient manner, under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Document and chart medication administration, as well as report any relevant observations or concerns.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including laundry and housekeeping tasks.
- Adhere to and convey a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families, and employees.
- Complete necessary care documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Supervise residents' medications under the direction of the service plan, according to established procedures and regulations.
- Ensure that required documentation is complete and in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Provide redirection, monitoring, and observation as integral parts of a personal care plan.
- Provide redirection and intervention for behavior, including observation and monitoring.
- Perform incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan.
- Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and provide covered care services according to the client's care plan.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Occasional use of hands, wrists, and fingers, and lifting or moving up to 75 lbs may be required.
- Movements such as stooping, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching are occasionally required.
- This position requires spending a majority of the workday standing and walking, with occasional sitting.
- Noise and/or level of distractions in the work environment is moderate.
- Ability to provide covered PCA services according to the person's PCA Care Plan.
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and have reliable transportation for work in the community.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least six months experience in an assisted living community preferred.
- United States Citizenship or evidence of a valid Alien Work Permit.
- Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this state.
- Certified as Registered Medication Aide in this state.
