Clinical Education Manager for Respiratory Therapy

Position Overview: The Clinical Director of Respiratory Therapy is responsible for overseeing the educational framework of the Respiratory Therapy program, ensuring that students receive comprehensive training that promotes high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the performance and effectiveness of clinical educators.
- Establish new clinical partnerships and secure necessary agreements.
- Conduct site visits to clinical facilities, offering guidance on instructional methods. Ensure that students obtain technical training from clinical instructors. Provide direct instruction to students at these sites.
- Guarantee that all students engage with medical professionals. Develop protocols for maintaining physician interactions in clinical environments. Keep accurate records of medical oversight.
- Collaborate with clinical personnel to design student clinical assignments. Manage student scheduling within the department. Formulate clinical objectives and assessment criteria. Conduct orientation sessions for students at each clinical education location. Monitor student competency evaluations and review clinical documentation. Assess student performance against course objectives and adapt learning strategies as needed.
- Deliver instruction in both theoretical classroom settings and practical laboratory environments. Prepare instructional materials and lecture outlines. Provide constructive feedback to students.
- Oversee the clinical education component of the Respiratory Therapy program, including the scheduling of clinical faculty. Review and update the clinical education strategy. Propose modifications to the Program Director.
- Maintain student academic records in line with established guidelines. Finalize grades at the conclusion of each semester to update student transcripts.
- Engage with public and community respiratory care organizations.
- Assist the Program Director in evaluating student applications for program admission.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by relevant educational authorities.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification and a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) state license.
- A minimum of four years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist, with at least two years in clinical respiratory care.
- Two years of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program, either as faculty or as a clinical preceptor.
- Current licensure, certification, or designation as mandated by local, state, or federal regulations in the respiratory therapy field.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software applications.
