Position Overview:

As a vital member of the IT team, you will support enterprise applications with a primary focus on logistics and warehouse management systems, including WMS, YMS, and WCS, along with the associated business processes. This role necessitates collaboration with software vendors, IT development teams, and various business units, including warehouse, distribution, transportation, sales, and customer service, to ensure the seamless operation of distribution functionalities and effective system communications. Your key responsibility will be to ensure timely delivery of IT projects related to warehouse distribution, guaranteeing that application users can process transactions efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the logistics team in planning new warehouse setups, including the necessary hardware and software managed by IT, and coordinate resources to align with the established plan.
  • Guide and collaborate with business teams to define business requirements and develop blueprint documents, ensuring timely approval for software build projects.
  • Support the logistics team in technology selection, including SOW and contract negotiations, if applicable.
  • Project Management:
    1. Develop and manage software project implementation plans, ensuring deliverables are met and projects go live as scheduled with confirmation from project sponsors.
    2. Coordinate resources to address any issues during project implementation.
    3. Provide periodic updates on project progress and risks to all stakeholders.
    4. Lead cutover and contingency planning efforts.
    5. Oversee the project acceptance verification and closure process.
  • Application Support:
    1. Conduct system configurations as necessary.
    2. Provide first-line support, monitor active support tickets, and expedite resolutions in collaboration with vendors. Manage user access based on business needs and oversee license management.
    3. Jointly manage enhancements, break-fixes, patches, updates, and upgrades with the vendor.
    4. Perform root cause analysis on production application failures and drive necessary remediation efforts.
    5. Coordinate with business and IT teams and vendors to resolve issues and plan around WMS/YMS, ensuring adherence to agreed service delivery SLAs.
    6. Analyze support tickets periodically to identify significant business impacts and collaborate with logistics and vendor teams to develop long-term solutions.
    7. Participate in the development and annual testing of disaster recovery plans for each assigned application, ensuring documentation is current and roles are clearly defined.
  • Business Domain Application Roadmap Management & Continuous Improvement:
    1. Maintain a roadmap for significant updates to warehouse and distribution applications.
    2. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for WMS/YMS enhancements and upgrades, participating in business process improvement initiatives.
    3. Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to promote automation and streamline processes.
    4. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for significant expenditures on WMS/YMS in partnership with the business.
    5. Actively promote change programs and user adoption related to WMS/YMS, maintaining comprehensive documentation of business process flows, integration mappings, and system interfaces.
  • Logistics/Warehouse Data Management: Ensure adherence to housekeeping routines and data quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in managing software implementation projects, with familiarity in agile development methodologies and SDLC best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and effectively elicit business requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills that foster trust and effective working relationships across the organization.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Experience with integration technologies and familiarity with XML, Web Services, APIs, etc., is required.
  • Availability for occasional travel as needed.
  • On-call support availability may be required.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment and lift up to 50 pounds, as well as sit at a desk for extended periods.
Salary: $120k/year - $140k/year
