Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled International Service Specialist to join our team at Roehm. As a key member of our global trade team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our internal and external customers, ensuring seamless international sales and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct business with a strong focus on safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene concerns.
- Manage international sales and intercompany sales duties, including responding to customer inquiries, entering sales orders, and maintaining sales orders as needed.
- Support the Trade Compliance Manager with providing information related to duty drawback activities.
- Provide logistics support for project-related international shipments and international shipments of specialized commodities.
- Travel up to 10% per year domestically to support business operations.
- Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to international shipments, including ISF, customs clearance, inland transport, and equipment disposition.
- Create and maintain SLI documents for all international customers, coordinating with sales, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Manage and coordinate activities of customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Maintain processes to provide transparency of all import and export transactions related to sales orders and intercompany sales orders.
- Coordinate issuance of Certificates of Origin and prepare specific trade documents for regulatory authorities.
- Develop and maintain Import, Export, and Airfreight Shipment Routing Procedures.
- Support the Trade Compliance Manager with providing information related to duty drawback activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or 10 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- Preferred experience in import/export business, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, ocean transportation, international supply chain management, or international logistics.
- Multilingual preferred, but willingness to work with a qualified candidate is essential.
- Ability to assimilate and clearly communicate complex concepts, such as trade regulations and customer requirements.
- Literacy in SAP Procurement, Purchase, and Sales Order transactions.
- Knowledge of import and export regulations, ocean freight carrier processes, international air shipment processes, and international incoterms and customs processes.
