We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer with over a decade of experience in a consulting engineering environment, specializing in the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and security solutions. In this capacity, you will collaborate with a diverse team of MEP engineers, architects, civil engineers, and environmental scientists to deliver electrical engineering design for various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Electrical Team in the Albany office, focusing on the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
  2. Mentor and supervise a team of Electrical Engineers in project design and development, encompassing drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications. Address client inquiries, review contractor submissions, and provide clarifications during the construction phase.
  3. Review and oversee electrical department design documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
  4. Collaborate with the QA/QC team to enhance company quality standards and procedures.
  5. Work alongside the MEP management team to formulate and implement short- and long-term manpower and production strategies to achieve project goals.
  6. Contribute to business development efforts by participating in client presentations and pursuing new project opportunities.
  7. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in a consulting engineering role focused on the design of electrical systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the architectural and engineering sectors, including relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must hold a valid NJ Professional Engineer license (NY PE is a plus).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
  • LEED Accreditation and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and EasyPower are preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems is advantageous.
