We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer with over a decade of experience in a consulting engineering environment, specializing in the design of power, lighting, communication, and security systems for buildings. In this capacity, you will collaborate with fellow MEP engineers as part of a diverse design team. Your responsibilities will include executing electrical engineering designs for a variety of clients, both public and private, and coordinating with internal and external teams focused on power generation, distribution, low voltage systems, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security system design.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Electrical Team in the Albany office, focusing on the design of electrical systems including power distribution, emergency power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
  2. Develop, mentor, and oversee a team of Electrical Engineers in project design and development tasks, including producing drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications, addressing client inquiries, reviewing contractor submissions, and providing construction clarifications.
  3. Ensure the completion and compliance of electrical department design documents with industry and company standards.
  4. Collaborate with the QA/QC team to enhance company quality standards and procedures.
  5. Work with MEP management to formulate and implement short- and long-term manpower and production plans to achieve project goals.
  6. Engage in business development initiatives to pursue new projects, including participating in client presentations.
  7. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in a consulting engineering firm focused on the design of building power, lighting, communication, and security systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the architectural and engineering industry, including relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Must hold a valid NJ Professional Engineer license (NY PE is a plus).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite (or similar software).
  • LEED Accreditation and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and EasyPower are desirable.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems is advantageous.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 annually.
