Position Overview

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is collaborating with a prominent organization in the field of aviation safety and performance systems to identify a skilled Electrical Design Engineer for the 1st Shift. This role is essential for the development of innovative electronic solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electronic circuitry for aviation computing systems and associated apparatus, including testing devices and wiring harnesses.
  • Draft Statements of Work for outsourced services such as circuit board design and oversee the contractor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assess design alternatives to fulfill product functionality, environmental standards, and manufacturing sustainability, producing reports and documentation to support design decisions.
  • Formulate testing protocols and documentation for electronic components.
  • Offer engineering expertise to program management, sales, and marketing teams for new business initiatives and client support.
  • Assist manufacturing and repair teams with legacy product support.
  • Employ standard electrical laboratory tools to validate, troubleshoot, and modify electronic circuits.
  • Execute additional related tasks as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in digital design at frequencies in the hundreds of MHz utilizing ARM Cortex or equivalent microcontrollers.
  • Fundamental knowledge of analog circuit design.
  • Experience in designing for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility regarding susceptibility and emissions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
  • Experience in designing safety-critical electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of standards such as RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-461G, and similar qualification criteria.
  • Competence in bare-metal embedded C to assist software engineers in driver development.
  • Proficiency in Python, Excel, and other analytical tools.
  • Experience with version control systems like Subversion.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
