Overview

The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the annual financial planning, management of assets and liabilities, and the optimization of the balance sheet, as well as the implementation of the Credit Union's comprehensive financial strategies. This role involves overseeing accounting, recordkeeping, and financial reporting in compliance with established accounting principles, facilitating GreenState's objectives. The CFO will manage and reconcile the investment portfolio of the credit union and engage in strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

The CFO will perform essential duties including, but not limited to:

  1. Upholding the Credit Union's core values and service standards.
  2. Exhibiting a strong focus on member service at all times.
  3. Fostering teamwork in all interactions and responsibilities.
  4. Maintaining confidentiality of member information.
  5. Promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  6. Leading the development of the annual budget in collaboration with the Leadership Team and presenting it for board approval.
  7. Managing the asset and liability structure in conjunction with the ALCO team, including:
  8. Chairing and participating as a voting member of the Asset Liability Committee.
  9. Engaging in discussions regarding loan and deposit product pricing and preparing monthly ALM reports.
  10. Modeling balance sheet risks and driving actions related to loans and deposits.
  11. Conducting risk analytics, including stress testing and scenario planning.
  12. Producing the Asset Liability Committee Report and ensuring board and staff are informed of relevant outcomes.
  13. Managing the investment portfolio and asset/liability management policies.
  14. Formulating and executing short and long-term strategies for balance sheet optimization.
  15. Overseeing financial planning and analytics, providing insights and direction.
  16. Coordinating CPA audits and regulatory examinations.
  17. Supervising the preparation and distribution of financial reports.
  18. Staying updated on financial industry developments and trends.
  19. Evaluating financial management tools and techniques for relevance.
  20. Monitoring staffing needs in the finance department and supporting staff development.
  21. Conducting performance evaluations and managing disciplinary actions as necessary.
  22. Tracking daily scheduling and attendance of direct reports.
  23. Participating in community service and Credit Union events.
  24. Serving as a voting member of the Commercial/Business Loan Review Committee.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; with 10-15 years of financial leadership experience. A CPA designation is preferred.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of financial products and services.
  3. Experience in a large financial institution with assets exceeding $10B is preferred.
  4. Proficiency in working with Finance Board Committees and building profitability models.
  5. Familiarity with CFPB regulations is advantageous.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
  8. Must be bondable.

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the President and CEO.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervising others.
