Overview
The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the annual financial planning, asset-liability oversight, balance sheet enhancement, and implementation of the Credit Union's comprehensive financial objectives. This role involves managing accounting, recordkeeping, and financial reporting in compliance with established accounting standards to support GreenState's aspirations. The CFO will oversee the management and reconciliation of the investment portfolio while participating in the overall financial and strategic planning for the organization. Additional responsibilities may include special projects as assigned by the President/CEO.

Key Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer will perform essential duties and responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to:
- Upholding the Credit Union's core values and service standards in executing GreenState's mission.
- Exhibiting a strong focus on member service, both internally and externally.
- Fostering teamwork in all interactions with colleagues and in the execution of responsibilities.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of member information.
- Promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Leading the development of the annual budget in collaboration with the Leadership Team and presenting it to the board for approval.
- Guiding the asset and liability framework of the Credit Union in conjunction with the ALCO team, including:
- Chairing and participating as a voting member of the Asset Liability Committee.
- Engaging in discussions regarding pricing strategies for loan and deposit products and preparing monthly ALM reports.
- Modeling balance sheet risk structures and driving actions related to loans and deposits.
- Conducting risk analytics, including stress testing and scenario planning.
- Overseeing the preparation of the Asset Liability Committee Report.
- Keeping the Board and staff informed of significant ALM outcomes.
- Providing periodic education on ALM techniques to the Board and staff.
- Managing the investment portfolio and asset/liability management policies in collaboration with the President/CEO, reporting activities to the Board.
- Developing and executing short and long-term strategies for balance sheet optimization.
- Overseeing financial planning and analytics, providing insights and direction to various organizational constituencies.
- Coordinating CPA audits and state and federal examinations.
- Managing the Credit Union's borrowing portfolio.
- Supervising the preparation and distribution of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Staying updated on financial and industry trends and serving as a resource for economic data and insights.
- Monitoring staffing needs in accounting and finance, including recruitment, development, and performance evaluations.
- Providing coaching and support to team members, fostering career development.
- Conducting performance evaluations and managing disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.
- Tracking daily scheduling for direct reports, including overtime and leave management.
- Maintaining attendance standards to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
- Engaging in community service and participating in Credit Union-sponsored events.
- Serving as a voting member of the Commercial/Business Loan Review Committee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; with a minimum of 10-15 years of financial leadership experience. A Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Credit Union's financial products and services.
- Experience in a large financial institution with assets exceeding $10B is preferred.
- Familiarity with Finance Board Committee operations and expertise in profitability and pricing models.
- Experience with CFPB regulations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours as required by workload demands.
- Must be bondable.
Reporting Structure
The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the President and CEO.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position includes supervisory responsibilities over other staff members.
