The Human Exploration & Spaceflight Directorate within the Aerospace Corporation Civil Systems Group offers subject matter expertise across the NASA agency. We are in search of a Human Exploration and Space Flight Subject Matter Expert (Senior Project Engineer - Systems Engineering) to support various projects.

Work Model

This is a full-time role that offers a hybrid work model, combining regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as business needs permit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting swiftly to evolving requirements and timelines while delivering consistently high-quality outputs.
  • Effectively communicate and summarize analytical findings to both Aerospace and NASA Senior Staff.
  • Work under the guidance of Government personnel, the Aerospace Task lead, or other contractors in leadership roles as circumstances necessitate.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently with efficiency.

Essential Qualifications - [Senior Project Engineer - Systems Engineering]

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or a related STEM field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in MSFC Programs, with a background in systems engineering and/or program management.
  • Experience collaborating across various organizations at MSFC.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to work locations or client sites, both domestically and internationally, approximately 10% of the time.
  • This position necessitates the ability to obtain and sustain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be advantageous if you possess one or more of the following:

  • Master's or PhD degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Over 12 years of experience in MSFC Programs, with a background in systems engineering and/or program management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading multiple teams at NASA MSFC.
  • Experience collaborating with NASA teams at other NASA centers.
