Position Overview - Project Controls Analyst

Role Summary

The Project Controls Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the project management team within the Construction Business Unit. This position is essential for overseeing various project control functions, including:

  • Cost Management: Monitor and report on project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Change Control: Manage and document any alterations to project scope and budget.
  • Progress Measurement: Assess project advancement against established milestones.
  • Schedule Development: Create and maintain project timelines to ensure timely completion.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Controls Analyst, you will:

  • Lead the initial project setup in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely project reporting for stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews with the project team and offer insights for effective cost control and forecasting.
  • Assist in the establishment of a Change Management System and manage change orders.
  • Document modifications to cost reports and forecasts.
  • Support the development of cash flow forecasts and collaborate with project schedulers on work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Engage in project planning and scheduling activities, ensuring adherence to execution plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with project execution.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure project objectives are met while maximizing profitability and maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance project controls policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management/Analytics.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project controls within an industrial construction environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey goals and training.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational abilities, with a proven capacity to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in project controls best practices to drive team accountability.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks to meet both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and the capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with database management (SQL) and data analytics tools (Power BI/Tableau) is advantageous.
